I taught Psychology at South Seattle Community College and found that many people were lacking in assertiveness skills. I have found the same thing to be true in my private practice. I also found that many people who are unassertive can be very aggressive and angry when they finally speak up – and that can cause significant problems that then may play into being unassertive again.
